Avenues is a new category of school: a world school that combines a global scope with a local focus to serve children from 2 years old until high school graduation.
At Avenues São Paulo, a student’s path to global citizenship begins in the very first year of school. In the Primary Division, our youngest children will benefit from a full English immersion program supported by two teachers per classroom. For our older students, our Secondary Division curriculum has been designed to both challenge and support our learners while expanding their global horizons. Through purposeful, meaningful learning, we aim to infuse in our students a love for learning and help them develop the skill set needed to understand and tackle our world's most pressing problems.

The SST members oversee individual students and understand their needs to share key information with the class teachers and subject area teachers as well as the deans of student life. SST will work closely with the deans and Associate Division heads to make sure that student needs are communicated effectively, and that learning plans and strategies are in place. |

Students are holistically evaluated through a combination of academic records, developmentally-appropriate playgroups or interviews, teacher recommendations, written statements, and reading, writing and mathematics assessments. We have a very busy, diverse after school program that allows students to explore their passions. We offer specialized classes ranging from circus, to fencing to technology to maker projects to capoeira to music to art. These are charged separately. Many older students also take initiative and leadership to run their own "clubs" -- Model United Nations, school magazine, community service, yearbook -- the possibilities are endless! |
