Homework and the amount of time required to complete it is related to the needs of the students, being highly variable depending on their age, the characteristics of their learning process and the complexity of the grade they are studying.

Qualities and characteristics best defining the school

We boast a demanding educational model that focuses on the diverse talents of each of our students and is recognised internationally. We are an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School and are committed to offering its three programmes: Primary Years Programme (PYP) Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP). We are members of the Council of International Schools and are accredited by NEASC (New England Association of Schools and Colleges). Our students are accepted by the most prestigious universities both nationally and internationally, thanks to the excellent results we achieve year after year. All of our students who took the Spanish EvAU university entrance exams and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme in the 2020-2021 academic year were awarded their diplomas.
We also offer our students the opportunity to take part in the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award (DofE), an all-round personal development programme for students to enhance their skills.
Furthermore, we are the first Spanish school to become a member of Round Square, an association that is made up of the most prestigious international schools, with 200 members all over the world and whose strategic objective is to serve as a platform for future leaders.

Sports and Arts are at the core of our school, developing our students’ music skills with ‘Play Music’ programme, performing arts (we are an ISTA member) and offering High Performance programmes for those students who are following a professional career either in Arts or sports.

Teaching approach of the school

Our teaching approach is part of The Future Learning Model, the SEK Educational Group framework for learning and teaching, that integrates the Intelligent Classroom (AI) model (Segovia, F; 1995) alongside the framework of the International Baccalaureate (IB) programmes, and the innovative ACE Learning Protocol adopted by SEK schools as our external quality assurance process. This model brings together nine key elements (focus on learning, goals, learning sequence, evidence for learning, agency, co-creation and self-directed learning, learning technology, professional learning and collaborative planning, diversity, global citizenship and social innovation, culture and strategy of quality) that describe the kind of learning and teaching we value and develop across our school.
