The practice of school sports starts with psychomotricity and swimming for small children, and leads up to intensive physical conditioning and ample sports facilities, such as tennis, paddle, basketball, athletics, fencing, judo, ballet, and horseback riding in Primary, Secondary and Bachelor´s studies.

Ciudalcampo SEK school was founded in 1975, as a natural expansion of the SEK institution and a response to its high criteria of quality and efficiency.
The International Colegio SEK Ciudalcampo is situated at km 27,500 on the Madrid-Burgos motorway, RACE entrance (close to Circuito de Jarama and the residence complex called “Ciudad Residencial Ciudalcampo”).

Teaching approach of the school

The Primary Education Program called PEP (“Programa de Escuela Primaria”) is a trans-disciplinary programme of international education, designed to promote children’s integral development. Its purpose is to encourage a complete and all- round development, focusing on students’ social, physical, emotional and cultural needs, as well as their academic potential. The philosophy of the Primary Education Programme has a direct influence on our young students, which goes on to be expressed in a series of personal attributes and qualities ideal for a student with an international perspective.

Pupils in Infant Education work within the framework of early education while Primary Education pupils follow the PYP (Primary Years Programme) method taken from the International Baccalaureate Organization (OBI). Students on the Compulsory Secondary Education and the Baccalaureate work in Intelligent Classrooms, using their specific methodology.
Parallel to the Spanish studies plan, students at Compulsory Secondary Education level also follow the Middle Years Programme, under the endorsement of the International Baccalaureate Office. While studying for the Spanish Baccalaureate, high achieving students also have the option of studying for the International Baccalaureate.

Middle Years Programme

The Middle Years Programme is an international one, favoured by the “International Schools Association” and developed by the Bachillerato Internacional for students between the ages of 16 and 18 years. In our institute, courses are focused around the knowledge and methodology of the Compulsory Secondary Education. The plan of study consists of areas of knowledge: Language A (national and autonomous language), Language B (foreign language), Mathematics, Art, Science and Technology, and areas of trans-reversibility and interaction, learning to learn, community service, health and social education, environmental management and “homo faber” (know-how to do). The programme finishes with a personal project.

The International Baccalaureate is an international programme, allows entry into the most important universities in the world. The programme is organized by the OBI (International Baccalaureate Organization). Alongside the official Spanish Baccalaureate, students take three subjects from the advanced level IB and three from the intermediate level. They also take a course in Epistemology and 150 hours of CAS activities (creativity, action and service), as well as completing a short but rigorous essay project.
