Use of technology in the classroom

We have implemented a "Bring Your Own Device" (BYOD) since January 2020.
As a school we recognise that electronic devices can be used as pedagogical tools. This policy is designed to ensure that all learners in the Middle and Senior Schools are equipped with laptops in all lessons to fully participate in blended learning opportunities and that they are aware of what constitutes appropriate use of technology for learning, following the ITSE Standards for Students. Technology for Education opportunities will be able to extend outside of the classroom and ensure students have access to learning resources at all times and in all places.

• All students will have access to the full Office 365 suite of apps and can access teacher created material, create their own material and collaborate with one another.
• Student’s devices will allow for functionally unrestricted access to the internet and the websites / browser applications that are commonly used in blended learning classrooms.
• Teachers will have access to the material (documents, images, audio, video) created by students and will be able to provide feedback to students directly to their devices.
• Teachers and students will be able to communicate more effectively inside and outside of the classroom.
