Yes, co-teachers are hired at every level for Elementary and Primary divisions.

Use of technology in the classroom

NIS operates against the backdrop of the Digital Age. Each classroom is equipped with a Promethean board and the teaching-learning process is conducted using the Blended Learning Board as the primary medium. BLB is the in-house, tailored learning management system that was developed by NIS Schools in which the Blended Model is fully digitized.

Is the school ready to use virtual classrooms when needed? (e.g. teaching lessons online if the school is closed, e.g. during COVID-19 closures)

100%. In March 2020, when the world went into lockdown, students of NIS Schools were ready to go online the following day through synchronous classes on the Blended Learning Board. All curricula is already on the system.

Do students practice religion at the school? What religion?

Yes. They sit for religion classes in accordance to the Ministry of Education. Classes cater for Muslim and Christian students.

How does the school accommodate non-religious students or students of a different religion?

Our demographics place each student in a Muslim or Christian household. Non-Egyptian students are exempted from these classes. If they want to attend, they can; if they do not, they are at liberty to go to the study hall.

External examinations or assessments available

SAT, ACT, EST, IB Exams, IGCSE Exams, Cambridge Checkpoint Exams (Year 6 and Year 8), Egyptian Ministry Exams (Year 9 and Year 12).

Students are in excellent standing with a large population awarded honors (A, A*). Additionally, our students have been accepted into some of the most prestigious universities worldwide: Harvard, Wharton School of Business, Oxford, Georgetown, and many more.

All homework assignments are limited to audio and video presentation recording which are uploaded to the BLB.

Exam and Interview

Brief description of entry evaluation required

Exams assess the standards of the preceding year in English and Mathematics. The interview is an evaluative session in which you can ask questions about NIS while the admission officer gets a better sense of your academic, athletic, and artistic goals. Each interview lasts about 30 to 40 minutes.

Deadline for registration (new academic year)

NIS starts accepting applications on December 15th for the following school year. The application deadline is March 15th of the intended year of entry.

Students can join after academic year begins

NIS accepts mid-year transfers, providing the student is not expelled from his current school and is in good academic/behavioral standing. Transferring into G11/G12 in the American system requires that the student transfers from the same system.
