Qualities and characteristics best defining the school

Montessori House Belgium is a school born from the spirit and force of teachers and parents who believe in the Montessori principles and who support the school with warmth and enthusiasm. MHB holds a genuine concern for the academic, social and personal development of each child, which forms the core of the school’s educational character. Montessori House is a bilingual school covering English and French.

MHB believes that all children, given the right opportunities at the right time in their development can achieve way beyond our expectations.

Teaching approach of the school

More than an approach to education, Montessori is an approach to life. The program at Montessori House Belgium, both in philosophy and pedagogy, is based on the scientific research work of Dr. Maria Montessori. The school respects children as self-directed individuals and fosters their growth toward independence and social responsibility whilst creating a joyful, diverse and family-oriented community.

The children are given choices and freedom within boundaries, where they are allowed to choose age-appropriate materials and activities that interest them, under the guidance of a trained Montessori teacher. This enables them to progress academically at their own pace. MHB recognises that each child is unique and we seek to accommodate their learning styles.
