At European International School of Barcelona, we believe education is about much more than academic results – it is about helping each child grow into the best version of themselves. Founded in 1996 by a group of passionate educators led by the Herranz-Frías family, our school was created as a space where students could develop academically, personally and socially in a supportive and inspiring environment. We are an independent international school with a strong humanistic and ecological ethos and a clear commitment to educating responsible, curious and confident young people.
Our educational project is constantly evolving and highly flexible allowing us to adapt learning to the needs, talents and interests of every student. With a community of around 1,500 students from more than 60 nationalities and guided by a stable and committed academic team our journey begins in Nursery and continues through to the second year of Baccalaureate. At this stage students can choose between the National Baccalaureate, the International Baccalaureate or the American High School Diploma opening doors to universities around the world.

In the Primary years Oak House is a British School, where the majority of subjects are taught in English. In the Secondary years pupils receive a trilingual education with subjects taught in English, Catalan and Spanish, plus an optional fourth language.
Teaching and learning is stimulating, active and participative. Oak House employs a variety of teaching approaches, including the use of a range of new technologies. Through group work Oak' pupils learn to work cooperatively and use their individual strengths to help them achieve a common goal.
