My son was bullied to the point he refused to go into school, the teachers constantly ignored the situation and continued with their “soft approach”. The school is also behind academically compared to the British curriculum. There is no structure or discipline at this school.

Thank you for your feedback. At AIS, the safety and emotional well-being of our students are our absolute priorities, and we take any report regarding a student’s experience very seriously.
We are concerned to hear your perspective on our pastoral approach. We maintain a robust safeguarding framework and a zero-tolerance policy toward bullying. Our most recent inspection report (October 2024) explicitly validated our pastoral care, noting:
"Pupils are very aware of what they need to do, and what they can expect from the school, should bullying occur... Pupils move around the buildings in a quiet and conscientious manner; newly revised behaviour guidelines help to maintain a calm, purposeful atmosphere."
While our Steiner-Waldorf influenced methodology emphasises a "holistic" environment, this is supported by clear structure and professional supervision to ensure every child feels secure.
Regarding the British Curriculum, AIS is fully committed to high academic rigour alongside personal development. Our curriculum is based on the British National Curriculum, and our IGCSE and A-Level results consistently remain above the national average. Our inspectors confirmed that:
"Effective planning provides work which is matched to individual pupil capabilities... including the more able learner. There is a strong emphasis on PSHE, integrated into the cross-curricular elements of the pupils’ timetables."

My son (aged 13) spent the academic year 2020-2021 at AIS. It was, from start to finish, an amazing experience. The teaching staff are talented and creative, and really connect with the students. As well as academics, the students were immersed in music, arts and crafts, gardening, hiking......An incredible year, we were all so sad to leave this environment to return to the US.

AIS follows the British National Curriculum complemented by a Steiner Waldorf perspective and Mindfulness practices. Children have the opportunity to learn in an outstanding natural setting where their day is intertwined with outdoor activities. My kids enjoy going to school and they have learned English in no time.

Being part of the AIS school community has been a great experience for my sons. The school is located in a beautiful place, completely surrounded by nature and with incredible views. The school facilities are really good!
My sons are happily learning in a very caring and nurturing atmosphere that respects their own learning styles and gives them the confidence to develop their strengths and work on their weak spots at the same time. They are Spanish speakers , but they were able to manage the basic English language they need to keep their class learning pace in less than a year. As a result of the English immersion they are exposed to, their command of the English language is continuously improving.

The surroundings are beautiful. However the curriculum is at least 2 years behind the British curriculum. My 12 year old daughter constantly commented how she already learned this back in London. A whole year in the school she hasn't learned anything new. The school administration is a complete mess. Highly incompetent and unwilling to take responsibility for their own mistakes. My deposit was withheld for 3 months and 20 euros deducted without any explanation.
If you want your child to attend a playground, then this school is fine. If your child needs to learn, probably not the best.
